A hands-on approach for a hands-on product

Koru Medical Systems

Infusion Set Packaging

Once we’d completed development of Koru’s new Infusion Set, its packaging also needed a redesign. Flexible bags are typical, but their problems are manifest: poor organization of components, challenging accessibility, and inadequate durability against damage during shipping and storage. We suggested a rigid component, an Organizer, that would mitigate these issues.

Concept Development

This is one of those design problems best solved by building and breaking things. A quick sketch to help map out the idea, maybe some CAD to ensure spacing is right, but these packaging concepts really required a hands-on approach in order to understand how unruly tubing, flexible plastic, and rigid cardboard might come together to provide patients with visibility, accessibility, and durability.
